Julia began her singing career at the Gnessin Music College in Moscow and continued her studies at the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory under Prof. Nina Arsentyeva. In 2015, she moved to Berlin to pursue her bachelor's and master’s degrees at the Hanns Eisler School of Music under the guidance of Prof. Thomas Quasthoff and Prof. Fionnuala McCarthy.
During her studies, Julia participated in a variety of projects, including the role of Tatyana in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin at the Musikbrauerei Berlin, Dido in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas at the Delphi Theater, and Zemfira in Rachmaninoff’s Aleko at the Hermitage Theater in Saint Petersburg. In 2016, she performed in Zender's Winterreise at the Berlin Philharmonie with the ECHO Ensemble under the musical direction of Manuel Nawri. This same year Julia sang the world premiere of Malte Giesen's opera Tako Tsubo at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
In 2019, Julia won the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg vocal competition. Her career as a performance artist began in 2020 with the opera-performance Merchandise Medea at Berlin's Ringtheater, collaborating with the art collective MENADE. Over recent years, she has taken part in various performances, including 禮 Li, Gifts and Rituals by Lee Mingwei at the 2020 Berliner Festspiele, and three works by Rachel Monosov: Liminal, Impossible Meeting Point, and Landscape of Comfort. Together with singer and performer Olga Bulavina, Julia co-founded the improvisational duo "Duo DAAH," which focuses on free improvisation as performance art. Their projects include a live vocal improvisation at the "Secret Garden" exhibition in Tallinn (2021) and the vocal performance Dialogs at the Gallery Café in Tallinn (2023).
Julia blends traditional vocal techniques with contemporary performance and improvisation in a unique way, establishing herself as a rising artist in the contemporary art scene. She is dedicated to engaging and inspiring her audiences through innovative and thought-provoking performances.
